Newbury Skatepark

Newbury skatepark was opened in 2011 by Maverick Industries and is an all concrete custom skatepark situated in Victoria Park. The park is well designed with a super smooth surface and features a range of transition and street based obstacles.

The main part of the transition side of things here is the large bowl on one side of the skatepark. It features three main sections of varying depths, two of which are square bowl that are joined by the third section by a rounded corner. The two rectangular bowls are also partitioned through the middle to form a spine between them. There are some extensions in the deeper bowl adding some vert to the mix as well.

The back of this bowl leads along on side of the street plaza section, which hosts a wide variety of obstacles aimed at riders of all abilities. There is a raised platform forming a hip off one side and has a bowled corner with extension along the other. Off this platform also leads a flat bank with a euro gap lined by a hubba and rail. On the opposite side of the park to this is a driveway lined with a hubba on one side and a rail running down the middle also adjoined to this is also a ledge. Both of these then lead onto a shallow, flat bottomed bowl with an open side with two extensions and a brick taco on the back platform.

Newbury skatepark is a really nice skatepark and one of the better ones in Berkshire, there is something for all types of rider and of all abilities here whether you’re practising the basics or trying to learn some new lines this is a great place to come.
