Truro Plaza Skatepark
Truro Plaza skatepark is a purpose built all concrete street plaza with a mini ramp off to one side. It is probably one of the best outdoor skateparks in the UK and definitely one of the only plaza of this size. It was built in 2009 and is spread over 590 sq m. and holds everything a street skater could possibly want.
The whole course is set over three main levels with stair sets of varying size bridging the gap between them. The top level features two flat banks facing each other one with a hubba and a curved ledge, and next to this as well is the long concrete mini ramp. On one side there are some wide, staggered steps down that eventually lead down to the bottom level in a curved shape and on the way down there are various different ledges of differing sizes and shapes. Down the middle between the top and bottom levels are a pair of stair sets, one long one with a rail and one adjacent to this split into two with a flat level between the two. The other side also has a series of wide and narow stair sets andsome flat banks as well leading from the top level to the bottom.
Truro Plaza skatepark is one of the only purpose built multi level street plazas in the UK and it is a great place to come and practise the basics or fine tune those harder tricks. The arrangement of this skatepark is unlike anything else and there is so much to do here with loads of lines to hit. There is a lot of grind potential here and there are some nice stair sets to jump too. This should be high up on your list of places to come and skate whether you live in Cornwall or not!
