Urban Extreme Skatepark
Urban Extreme skatepark is a large indoor skatepark set in a large warehouse in Barrow-in-Furness. It is made of bespoke wooden ramps with a wooden floor as well making it a super smooth ride and it contains a variety of transitions, some street elements and also a foam pit.
The warehouse is split into two main parts. One side holds a small street section comprising of a flat bank facing a quarter pipe with a driveway in between with a hubba and a rail. At the end of this is a small mini ramp, the side of which opens up into a large bowled area with a flat bottom.
The other half of the warehouse is a large, open rhythm section with some big obstacles and a lot of space to run up to them and gain speed. On one side it starts with a set of quarter pipes of differing heights and a massive roll in which lead up to two large volcanoes that double as jump boxes. Along side these volcanoes is also two tight spines with a big wall ride next to it. These then follow onto to a HUGE bowled, angled wall that reaches all the way to the roof, which is a big attraction of this park and really puts this skatepark on the map.
Running along the back wall of the warehouse is the foam pit run which is made up of a large roll in with another large ramp that leads directly into the foam pit.
This is a great indoor park and should be high on your list of places to visit if you are a transitions rider. The huge bowled wall is unlike anything else in the UK and the surfaces are all smooth and have a lot of grip. The two sections of the warehouse are good as they are aimed at two different levels of ability making this skatepark a great place for beginners and experienced riders alike.
