Hatherleigh Skatepark (Island Park)
Hatherleigh skatepark was designed and built by Wheelscape and opened in 2013. It can be found in Island Park and features a street section and bowl section as well.
The street section starts on one side with a flat bank and block that open up onto an earthquake gap with hubba, rail, ledge and a wave next to a stair set with rail. Following this is the bowl section that features a large open sided bowl with an extension around the short side. The open side of the bowl is then extended to form a quarter pipe that acts as a return ramp for the street run.
Hatherleigh skatepark is a good local spot with a bit of something for everyone. The arrangement of obstacles in the street section has been well thought out and the bowl section is large and has a lot of potential for big air. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced get yourself down here and check it out.
