Cyclopark Skatepark (Gravesend)

The skatepark in the Cyclopark facility in Gravesend is a large all concrete skatepark that was designed & built by Gravity, opening in May 2012. There is a huge variety of obstacles here, laid out in a creative fashion and it covers everything from transition to street style skating.

At one corner there is a large bowl that is split into three sections of differing depths, one being a tigher speed bowl style section, the next being a larger more open round bowl and adjoined to both of these is a rectangular flat bottomed one.

Adjacent to the bowl is a park/jump style section with an open sided rectangular bowl opening up into it. On either side of the jump course are two long quarter pipes of varying heights and in between the two are spines, volcanoes, roll overs and a ledge.

The other half of the skatepark is dominated by a large street plaza style course that encloses around the transitions section. Starting in the back corner with a bowled corner it opens up into a open flat area and steps up a level through a flat bank on either side with rails and hubbas. One of these then leads into another flat bank with manny pad and hubbas to where the corner turns where there is another kinked manny pad and a hipped flat bank on the corner. The final run of the street section then finishes with a driveway with hubba and has a flat bank at the ned for a return ramp.

The Cyclopark’s skatepark is a top class facility that holds everything you could possibly want from a skatepark and the layout of the obstacles is done is a really creative way that there are endless lines you can hit here, be it in the street or transition section. This skatepark should be high up on your list of places to visit!
