Jackson’s Field Wheelpark (Rochester)

Jackson’s Field Wheelpark, also known as Rochester Skatepark, was designed & built by Gravity and opened in 2007. It is a medium sized all concrete park found in Jackson’s Field, made up of a bowl section and a street section.

The bowl here is an L-shaped bowl that has an over vert in the back corner. It is flat bottomed and set at one constant depth with coping around the edges. On the top platform of the bowl there is also a ledge and at the end, perpendicular to the bowl, is a mini ramp, the back side of which has a flat bank coming off it leading up to a quarter pipe.

Laid out around the inner edges of the bowl is the street section that is fairly simple and also set up in an L-shape. It has a flat bank starting it on one side and a raised hipped bank and a flat bank finishing the course off.

This is a great local park with something for all types of rider of all abilities, the surfaces are smooth and grippy and the obstacles are well arranged given the limited space. Rochester skatepark is definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.
