Kingston King’s Field Skatepark

Situated in King’s Fields, this skatepark was designed and constructed by Wheelscape and opened in April 2011. It has been designed to be one continuous loop integrating a large bowl and multi-level plaza style street section. This concrete park is split into three main sections with an incredibly smooth surface and some unusual and unique obstacles that are a lot of fun to skate.

The first section is very street oriented and features two slopes, the first has a 4 stair set lined with two rails and a small hubba next to it. This moves onto a small ledge which then leads into the second slope which in turn flows into the bowl section. Along the entire side of this section is a fairly unique long, double kinked hubba perfect for those long grinds.

The bowl section features a flat bottomed 5 foot bowl with bowled end along with a 1 foot extension that doubles as a spine over to quarter on the other side which can also be used as a mini ramp. If a spine transfer is too much then there is also a mellow roll in to the quarter pipe as well.

The final L-shaped section connect the other side of the bowl back to the start of the street section and features a jump box and astro turf gap with a ledge. These lead into the corner which is comprised of two quarter pipes connected with a hip that flows into the small driveway leading up to a bank with pole jam on top.

Overall this park has a lot to offer to all skaters, with good flow between the obstacles. However the obstacles are quite close together and at busy times it can be quite crowded, so for a quiet session make sure you visit on a weekday in the daytime.

Unlike any other outdoor park, to use it you are required to fill out a consent form signed by your parents if you are under 16 and pay a fee of £5 to use. If you are over 16 the above still applies only without the parental signature, see website for more details.
