Knowsley Leisure Centre Skatepark
Built by ACrete in 2011, Knowsley Leisure Centre Skatepark is huge outdoor concrete skatepark and holds both a large transition section and also a multi level plaza style street section, there is something here for every type of skater of all abilities.
The bowl section of the skatepark has two main features, the main part is a long bowl of varying depths with some vert extensions along some edges however one of the sides is open and leads into the start of the street section. The other section features a large and deep kidney shaped old skool pool with concrete pool coping which is very popular. Where the main bowl opens up there is also a small transition section comprising of a flat bank, roll over and a very tall vert wall for some back and ofrth based skating.
The street section holds a lot of variety and is all set up in one long channel giving a lot of potential for those long continuous lines. It starts at one end with a flat bank and hand rail that leads into a ledge on the left and another long flat bank the has stair sets and ledges along it. Opposite to this is an unusually shaped hip with a wall lining the side opening up for a lot of wall ride potential. Further down the street section is another hip that then leads up to a flat bank with more ledges and bowled edges.
Knowsley Leisure Centre Skatepark is the biggest outdoor skatepark in Liverpool and is very popular as the concrete is silky smooth and there is a lot to skate here. The obstacles are well laid out with enough space between them to stop the place getting crowded and the old skool pool is a big attraction for the park drawing people for miles around just to have a skate.
