Merthyr Tydfil Skatepark

Merthyr Tydfil skatepark was designed and built by Maverick Industries, opening in 2011. It is an all concrete skatepark that can be found in the south part of town and has transitions as well as street elements.

On one side of the skatepark is a hipped bowl that has varying height and the back side of which is joined onto a kinked flat bank with an extension next to a driveway with ledge that leads in and out of the bowl. On the far side of the flat bank is a small stair set and euro gap combo with a rail that faces onto a manny pad and hipped quarter pipe. In the opposite corner to this is a funbox style corner piece that features a hipped bank, block, curved ledge, euro gap and a rail.

Merthyr Tydfil skatepark is a nice local spot with a bit of something for everyone. There is a decent selection of obstacles which are well spaced and the surfaces are smooth making this a great place to come and learn the basics or even for experienced skaters looking for some nice lines.
