R-Kade Skatepark

R-Kade skatepark is a large indoor park set out in a large warehouse on the coastline in Redcar. It was designed and built by Four One Four out of bespoke wooden ramps and features a a street section, park section and a bowl.

The bowl here is large and is formed out of two rectangular shaped sections with flat bottoms that are joined at the corner. One section has a large extension and the other is shallower and an easier ride. There are some hips between the sections and even a small oververt on one of the corners.

The back side of the bowl leads onto the side of the park section that starts with a quarter pipe and a roll in that opens up onto two jump boxes, after these being another jump box and a roll over that leads up to a huge vert wall.

The street section here is large and is made up of a slightly crooked back and forth section that starts and finishes with a series of quarter pipes and flat banks with a large vert wall corner on one side. In the middle of these is a long driveway style obstacle with hubbas and various other obstacles that you can hit here.

R-Kade is a great indoor skatepark with literally something for everyone. The selection of obstacles here is wide and they have been creatively arranged to make good use of the space and include a bit of everything. The ramps are in good condition and it is a great place to come and practise the basics as well as if you are more experienced and after a more challenging skate.
