Carrickfergus Skatepark
Carrickfergus skatepark was designed and built by Gravity and opened in 2012. It can be found next to the golf club and is a well rounded skatepark with both street and transition features.
The skatepark starts on one side with a bowl that is a rectangular shape with a speed bowl tagged onto one corner, the other corner being open with two hips the lead around to form a bowled edges. Following on from these is a double roll over with adjoining wallride and manny pad and on the opposite side of the skatepark is a pyramid with a hubba. The final part of the skatepark features a jump box leading into a narrow mini ramp that is next to a flat bank leading up a level with a hubba and rail with a quarter pipe with vert extension at the end.
Carrickfergus skatepark is a great local spot and the only concrete, outdoor skatepark in Northern Ireland. There is a decent selection of obstacles that have been well arranged and the surfaces are smooth and grippy. This is a great place to come and practise the basics or even if you are more experienced.
