The Belfry Skatepark (Newcastle)
The Belfry skatepark is Northern Irelands first purpose built skatepark and is found in an old church. The skatepark is constructed of bespoke all wood ramps and can be found next to the mouth of Shimna River.
It is made up of a back and forth run that features a large flat bank at one end next to a quarter with vert extension that lead up to a driveway with rail, ledge and manny pad. The run is then finished with a quarter pipe for a return ramp.
The Belfry is one of few indoor skateparks in Northern Ireland and is a nice local spot. It has a simple layout but the surfaces are smooth and grippy. If you are in the area get down here and check it out.
