Ashington skatepark
Ashington skatepark was designed and built by Wheelscape and opened in 2012. It is a medium sized all concrete park with both street and transition elements and can be found in between Ashington and the coastline.
The skatepark is split into two sections, one is a large bowl with an unusual shape that has a lot of corners and a large pump bump in the middle. It is quite deep and also has a small extension on one side and metal coping around the edges. Along side the bowl is a street course that starts with a quarter pipe and opens onto a flat bank with stair set, lined with hubbas and rails that lead down a level to a flat bank with extension.
Ashington skatepark is a great local spot and has something for everyone of all abilities, even though the street run here is quite basic the bowl makes up for it with all its corners and bumps to pump along meaning you don’t have to push once. You should definitely check out this skatepark if you are in the area.

Pegwood train station: As it is a long distance from the station it would be recommended to get a bus or a taxi to get to Ashington skatepark.
The Demense bus stop: Exit the bus onto South Side road and head east until Summerhouse Lane on your left. Walk along this road until the skatepark is in sight.
