Aberdare Skatepark
Aberdare skatepark was designed and built by Maverick Industries and opened in 2013. It can be found next to the school and features both street and transition elements.
The skatepark is made up of three sections, a street run, rhythm run and a bowl. The street run starts on one side with a quarter pipe that leads up to a flat bank with rail and hubbas with adjoining earthquake gap. Following this is a hipped bank next to a taco and a quarter pipe and after these is a stair set and manny pad.
Starting from the same place as the street run is the rhythm section that features a jump box and finishes with a roll in. Next to this is the bowl which is made up of a rectangular shape with two round bowls joined on the end. Each part is a different depth and and the middle one has an over vert and there is metal coping around the entire thing.
Aberdare skatepark is a great local park that has something for everyone. The park has been well designed to include a run for every type that seamlessly flow together to make long flowing lines. The surfaces are also super smooth meaning that it is a great place for beginners and experienced skaters alike.
