Cookson Skatepark

Cookson skatepark was opened in 2006 and is probably one of the best outdoor skateparks in Sheffield. An all concrete mainly bowl focused park it is aimed more at BMXers but there is still a lot for skaters to do here.

The park features two tight, circular bowls back to back with each other with a spine. Both of these have open sides leading out into a large open area with bowled edges and pump bumps in the middle to gain speed. Along this bowled edge is an extension and a large ledge as well. Further up the skatepark is a large pyramid and also a staggered set of ledges that lead onto a flat bank that can be used for some nice lines.

This is a large park and is a good place to come with friends for an afternoon session or just to practise the basics as the surfaces are smooth and the obstacles are well spaced out.
