Opened in February 2013, Area 25 skatepark was an indoor skatepark that could be found right in Martlesham in a small warehouse. It was constructed of bespoke wooden ramps and featured a large park room and a small mini ramp section as well. The park closed in March 2019.
The park section here is made up mainly of transition ramps but does have some street elements to one side. On either side of the transitions section is two lines of quarter pipes set at differing heights with a roll in on one side that book end a series of jump boxes, roll overs, spines and volcanos in between them to form a rhythm section. The street section takes up the other half of the space and has quarter pipes and flat banks either side of a driveway, hubbas, jump box, a euro gap and manny pad. There is also a seperate room to this that contains solely mini ramps that aims to cater for beginners to help them find their feet.
Area 25 skatepark is a great local skatepark, the arrangement of the obstacles is not the most original however the all wooden surfaces are smooth, grippy and seemless allowing for long flowing lines. They cater for all abilities meaning beginners can start in the mini ramp room and move up into the big room. Whatever your ability you should get down here and check Area 25 out.
