Guildford Skatepark (Stoke Park)
Guildford skateaprk was designed and built by Wheelscape, opening in 2012. It is a large all concrete skatepark with both a street and transition section and can be found in Stoke Park.
The skatepark is split into two halves, a bowl section and a street course. The bowl section features a large, open, flat bottomed bowl that is deeper than the others and has metal coping around the edges. One level up from this is a section with two tight speed bowls with pool coping lining the top of it and leading off the side is a channel that opens into the street course that can double as a mini ramp with extensions on one part.
The street course starts on the opposite side of the skatepark and features a quarter pipe with an extension that is then linked to a bowled edge which opens up onto the main body of the street area. Following these is a funbox which features a roll over, driveway, rainbow rail and hipped bank and next to this is a manny pad with a wedge ledge running down the middle of it. After these, on one side is a flat bank with stair set inset and hubba that leads up to the top platform of the bowl. On the other side is another flat bank with stair set, hubba and rail also lead up to a raised level on the edge of the bowl.
Guildford skatepark is an amazing facility with literally somethign for everyone, whether you are a street or transitions skater. There is a decent set of obstacles here and they have been creatively arranged to make good use of the space. There is a lot of space between the obstacles here and also in the bowl meaning that you have a lot of time to adjust between tricks and the surfaces are super smooth. This is a great place for beginners and experienced skaters alike and you should definitely get down here and check it out.
