Whitley Bay Skatepark

Whitley Bay skatepark is a large all concrete park that can be found in a beautiful spot next to the beach, and is primarily a transitions based park with some street elements thrown in.

The skatepark starts on one side with a bowl that is made up of two parts, one being square with an oververt and the other being a kidney shape joined onto it. Back to back to this is the more open area that is joined to the bowl with a roll over and is surrounded by bowled edges and a large flat bank. In the centre is a large pump bump with a vert wall and the flat bank has an extension with a speed corner next to it. The back side of this area is spined with a roll over into a shallower bowl that also has a tight speed bowl coming off one corner with an over vert. Running along the top platform along side all of this is a small street section that has a manny pad and some ledges as well.

Whitley Bay is a great local skatepark, especially if you are a transitions skater. There are a lot of little bumps and corners to pump around here, creating endless lines that you can flow around without having to push once. The surfaces are super smooth as well meaning that whether you are a beginner or a more expereinced skater you will find something to take your fancy.
