Platform 1 skatepark in Crewe is one of the most unique parks in the country, housed in a figure 8 shape it is an all concrete multi level plaza style street park with a small whippy bowl at the back. There is a lot of variety in the obstacles here with a very creative arrangement and a lot of space in the right places.
The course starts at the top with the whippy figure 8 bowl consructed of two round bottomed bowls of differing depths and with coping around the edges. The platform around the edge of this is where the street course starts with two stair sets separated by a flat bank with a shallower bank in the middle leading up to and extension at the top. These have two rails either side and lead down to the lower level through a big stair set lined by two hubbas and a rail down the middle. Either side of this are two staggered ledges and these lead down to the next level which features a shallow stair set with two manny pads. The next level down is a large open space which then leads up to the final set of obstacles. Here is a long flat bank with a stair set and rail in the middle lined with hubbas and two small quarters with vert extensions either side and two ledges at the top.
Platform 1 is a large street skatepark with some really nice obstacles and a great layout. There is a lot of long flowing line potential here and you could easily spend all day here hitting them all. It is also a great place to come and learn the basics of street skating or just a game of skate with friends.
