RAMP 1 Skatepark (Warrington)

RAMP 1 skatepark is a huge indoor park made up of 7 sections and is one of Europes biggest skateparks. It can be found in a huge warehouse on the outskirts of Warrington and has everything you could possibly want from a skatepark.

The first section here is the large street course. Bookended at either side by quarter pipes and flat banks with a large series of stair sets, flat banks, rails, kickers, funboxes, hubbas, a jersey barrier and a manny pad; all arranged in a creative way that allows for long flowing lines. On the back side of this course is also the mini ramp section with a tall and long kinked mini ramp.

Running along side this is the rhythm section which starts and ends with some huge quarter pipes and inbetween the two are a series of huge jump boxes, step ups, spines, and roll overs, including one over the tunnel. This is a gnarly section where you can get a lot of speed and a lot of air!

Next to this is the smaller progressive section where to obstacles are a bit smaller and is aimed at beginners wanting to lay down the basics before hitting the bigger ramps. It features two walls of quarter pipes and flat banks that house rails, ledges, hubbas and a manny pad.

In line with this section is the bowl. The bowl here is huge and might be one of the biggest in the UK, has various depths ranging from 5 to 7ft. There are a lot of kinks, bumps and corners to pump around meaning you will never have to push once if you dont want.

On one side of the bowl is a beginner section and on the other is their airbag section. Similar to a foam pit with a roll in and lead up and can be used to practise those harder tricks.

RAMP 1 skatepark is a world class facility with something for everyone of all abilities, whether you like to ride street or transition. The ramps range in size and cater for beginners and experienced skaters and the surfaces are all wooden making it a smooth and quick ride. Overall this skatepark should be high on your list of places to visit whether you are from the area or not.
